Unfortunately, we have witnessed this demonization by Governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida, as they cruelly transported migrants to other states with false promises of jobs, housing, and other services.

Once again, Latino voters will play a decisive role in determining our leaders and there is too much at stake for Latino families in Nevada and across the country to stay at home and not vote.

By extending these tax credits, millions of American and Latino families would have seen a significant increase in their health premiums at the end of 2022, forcing many to lose their health insurance.

Today’s dangerous decision by the U.S. Supreme Court puts the personal health decisions women make about their bodies in the hands of politicians. Make no mistake, this decision is a violation of women’s rights, autonomy, and their health.

Tragedies like this one keep happening while elected officials do nothing; except, in Texas’ case, make firearms more available. Instead of working to protect their citizens after the senseless and racist murders in El Paso and Odessa just two years ago, Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Republican legislators have shamelessly loosened gun laws, most notably passing permit-less carry less than a year ago.

Racist and bigoted hate speech continues to plague our country and squarely puts a target on the back of communities of color. We call on our elected officials, Republican leaders, news, and television networks, along with social media platforms to not only condemn, but monitor the toxic rhetoric that is inspiring these mass murders here at home and around the world.
